altThe Howland Township Summer Youth Sport and Recreation Program begins June 10th! The program is designed to provide children, ages 6-13, the opportunity to learn the basic skills needed to participate in a variety of different recreational activities. The camps provide fun for the children in a controlled interactive environment, while promoting individual and group skills development. We hope to lay a foundation for each child to begin the process of developing a healthy lifestyle, which will carry over into adulthood.

3-feet Bicycle Law

As the weather gets warmer, more two-wheeled enthusiasts and athletes will be sharing the road with vehicles with four wheels or more.  As a reminder, Ohio signed in to law the 3-Foot Rule, in 2016.  The law provides that motorists must give bicyclist at least three feet of clearance when passing bicyclists.  The law also permits bicyclist and motorists to treat inoperable traffic signals as stop signs.  WKBN covered the improvements to the law on its morning news program soon after it was signed.  Here is a link to the story:  http://wkbn.com/2017/03/19/new-ohio-law-requires-drivers-to-leave-3-feet-of-space-when-passing-cyclists/

Let's be careful out there and remember to Share The Road!
