This class is intended to cover the "basics" of fire investigation. It will be directed to those just getting into fire investigation. It will also serve as a "refresher" to those who may have more experience in fire investigation. Please see attached flyer for more information.

The Howland Township Fire & EMS Training Center will hold an

Instructor Update on

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00PM.

We will meet in the classroom at Howland Station #30 located at

169 Niles Cortland Road.


Special Guests

Capt. Tracey Wright from Youngstown Fire Department and a member of the OAPFF Peer Support Network will be speaking on instructing critical incident stress management to students. 

Lt. Ray Pace with the Howland Fire Department and University Hospitals will be covering the new UH protocol and equipment.

The state requires all Instructors to attend 6 hours of specialized training related to their field or teaching techniques within their renewal cycle. Only Instructor update meetings held at an approved chartered training center are recognized by the ODPS. "Certificates of Attendance" will be issued to those attending all 3 hours. The state is now auditing instructors and verifying that they have attended an update.

Class Dates: Monday, June 17, 2019 – Friday, August 9, 2019

                           Classes are held Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

                           The State fire exam will be given on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Howland Station #30.

                           No class on Thursday, July 4, 2019 – Independence Day
